If I were god

If I were god
Heres what I would do
Tigers would baa
And cows wouldn’t moo

If I were god
There would be no school
We would have dragons as pets
And that would be cool

If I were god
Salad wouldn’t be healthy
The poorest of the poor
Would be extremely wealthy

If I were god
Trees would be made out of gold
Flowers from silver
No one would grow old

If I were god
Everyone would be a child
And go out to play
With a big glowing smile

If I were god
The world would change
Even if It was really strange!

MANGALYAAN

ISRO had such a big achievement
Read this poem if you are in agreement!

The mangalyaan, an Indian satellite
Was launched on November 5th when it took its first flight

And it took almost a year! Well that was long
Many people thought it would fail but they were all wrong

For on the glorious day on the 24th September
It was a mind blowing day that you have to remember!

The satellite finally landed in the orbit of mars
I hereby declare our ISRO scientists superstars!

THE TUNNEL

In the corner of the garden,
Is a great big hole,
I will tell you it’s secret,
But its never to be told,

When you peek in there
It will make you quiver
It is just so freezing cold
It will give you a shiver

Keep going in
It is silent and so dark
Until you get to the middle,
You see lights and a gigantic spark

Then here is what you see
Trees of silver and flowers of gold,
And all sorts of creatures
Who will never grow old

And guess how well
They use their bins?
Every piece of garbage
Has to go in

They don’t know paper!
They don’t know plastic
Their planet is so fresh and clean
So mindblowing and fantastic

They really love their world
They look after their resources well,
Unlike our earth which will soon be
A living hell

Just a little effort
To keep our earth clean
And then we could really
Go green!

If you ever forget
What you should do
Remember the secret of the tunnel

Which I told you!

AMBIDEXTROUS

Once I had a fracture
On my right arm,
I could not write at all
But I still kept calm.

Then it was just “EUREKA!”
I thought, an idea, I will do
Why not become ambidextrous?
And then I could write with my left hand too!

At first my left hand writing was terrible!
Letters that even I couldn’t understand,
I sighed and said to myself
“This isn’t what I’ve planned!”

I tried again but nothing seemed to work
I groaned inwardly,
But practice makes a man perfect
I wasn’t going to give up so easily!

I practiced and practiced
And practiced again
But how much ever I tried
My efforts were in vain

I’m still not exactly ambidextrous
I still can’t write a little word like cry!
But if you ever get a fracture

It’s definitely worth a try!

Books, Books and Books

Whether it’s Roman mystery
Or Irish history

Whether it’s about a princess
Or captain hook

All you need to entertain
Is any old book!

It could be big
It could be small

It could be short
It could be tall

They take you around the world without you leaving your chair
Yes books can take you everywhere!

The second world war
Or fairyland

The tallest mountain
Or deserts of sand

While boys read all about avengers
And girls of ofcourse – fairy adventure!

But anyway, all the same
Never judge a book by its cover or name!

So remember however good or bad the cover page may look,

It will promisingly take you into a spectacular book!

THE HUNGER GAMES

I recently finished reading a book called the hunger games. I liked it so much that I decided to write a poem about it! Hope you read the poem and decide to read the book too!

The hunger games, an amazing book
I,m telling you, you should take a look!

Katniss Everdeen the girl on fire
Shone like a blue sapphire

She fought hard for fortune and fame
In the end she won the game

She really did amaze the crowd
Her district and supporters were very proud

Her mum and sister watched the games all day
Hoping for the best, they would always pray

And when she won
Everyone was stunned

She stood with all her glory

And that is the hunger games story!!

The wolf friend

This is a poem that is dedicated to the grey wolves. They are beautiful creatures but are sadly endangered due to major habitat loss. I was inspired by the species and their qualities so i decided to write this poem just for them....

I saw him creeping in the moonlight
Eyes shining ever so bright

His coat was very slick
It was a light grey and was very thick

On chilly nights we always huddle
And I always give him warm cuddles

And even though he is just a wild animal
He is always my best friend and is so cuddly and lovable

As I catch a last glimpse of him howling at the moon
I know I will see him again soon

As I see the daylight coming I leave him with sorrow
But I know I can see my baby wolf friend at midnight tomorrow!!

The Flamenco Dancer

Flamenco is a Spanish Folk dance from southern spain (Andalucia region) - I had a chance to watch this during my recent trip to Spain and was speechless after watching the wonderful dancing... Here is a little poem on the Flamenco dancer

She held herself with style
And had a lovely charming smile
She clicked her fingers and tapped her feet
She shook her hips to the beat

She twirled around with flair
And had a big red flower in her hair
She had a frilly black skirt
And a bright red shirt

She lifted her skirt and twirled around
She clapped her hands and stomped on the ground
Her dance was amazing
That no-one could help gazing!

 The audience was just astounded

And I was completely dumbfounded!!!

THE SEASONS FAIRY

It was a chilly night in winter
Almost time for spring
It was then that I saw the season fairy
I saw her creeping in

She lifted up her hands
And used her magic powers
She turned all the drooping plants
Into fragrant blossoms and flowers!

She woke up all the bears and squirrels
From their hibernation
I could not believe my eyes
It was such a huge fascination

She turned the angry blizzard
Into a relaxing, cool breeze
She grew mouth-watering fruits
On the snow topped trees

It was then that she had to go
I really would miss her
But I knew that she would be back
Just in time for summer!

I LOVE SPRING!
